When is the best time to visit the Giza Pyramids?
More than 14 million people visit the Giza Pyramids each year, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in the world. Giza is also known for its intense desert heat. It is therefore important to know the right time of year to visit, as well as the best time of day to avoid crowds and experience cooler temperatures.
Summer (April to September)
Egypt in summer can be extremely hot. Temperatures can exceed 30°C (or 86°F). However, the summer months also tend to have fewer visitors and lower prices.
If you come in the summer, remember that the Giza Pyramids are in the Sahara Desert and walking around in the sun for hours can be quite uncomfortable.
In the summer, the best time to visit is 8am when the place opens, as it's still relatively cool and there are fewer tourists.
Winter (October to March)
The winter months are generally considered the best time to travel to Egypt. The climate is mild and relatively cooler, with an average temperature of around 22°C (71°F).
However, this is high season and sees larger crowds and high prices.
In winter, it is best to visit the Giza Pyramids between 10am and 12pm or in the late afternoon just before closing. This is after the tourist bus rush. This also allows you to skip an overcast sky in the morning, which reduces visibility.
VERDICT:The best time to visit the Pyramids of Giza is in winter, when the weather is relatively mild. Try to visit between 10am and 12pm when you can avoid cloudy skies, which obscure morning visibility, and avoid the afternoon heat.

If you have 6 hours
Visit the three pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx. Visit the Sphinx Temple and the Mortuary Temple opposite the Cheops Pyramid.

If you have a full day
Take a camel ride through the Giza complex and explore the nearby desert. After that you can see the three pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx up close.
